MG Gloster Video Shows Automatic Parking Feature – Revealed

Buoyed by excellent response for Hector twins and the eZS SUVs, MG Motors is all set to launch its flagship SUV – the MG Gloster in the Indian market. It will be the brand’s full-size SUV, which will come as a premium alternative to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Skoda Kodiaq.

The MG Gloster will be equipped with several segment-leading features. Adding to it, the SUV will also bring the autonomous braking tech in the country. The company has released couple of teaser videos of the SUV, and the latest teaser shows the automatic parking feature. It is claimed to be equipped with next-gen automotive technology. The teaser video also reveals the interior details of the new Gloster. It will be equipped with premium leather upholstery, a large panoramic sunroof, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with i-Smart connected car technologies, digital instrument console, etc. Similar to the Hector Plus, the new Gloster also gets leg swipe boot opening function. The SUV will be equipped with high-end safety features like adaptive cruise control, front and side airbags for all 3-rows, collision warning system, electronic stability control, etc.

The upcoming SUV is basically the re-badged Maxus D90, which is on sale in China. Unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo, the MG Gloster will sit above the Fortuner and the Endeavour in terms of pricing and positioning. In terms of proportions, the new full-size SUV is 5,005mm long, 1,932mm wide and 1,875mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,950mm. The SUV also offers a ground clearance of 210mm.

It is the biggest SUV in its category. In fact, the SUV is as large as the Toyota Land Cruiser and Jeep Cherokee. It will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-litre turbo-charged diesel. While the former is good for 220bhp and 360Nm of torque, the twin-turbo diesel engine offers 215bhp and 480Nm. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
