MG Gloster SUV (Fortuner Rival) – New Details Emerge

MG Gloster SUV Details

MG Gloster, the upcoming 7-seater SUV from the British carmaker, made its debut at this year’s Auto Expo. Based on the China-spec Maxus D90, the Gloster is slated to go on sale during Diwali season. Ahead of its official, the spy pictures of its production-ready model have surfaced online.

The images reveal that the SUV will carry some sporty design bits such as wraparound headlamps, 6-spoke alloy wheels with black finish and black cladding on wheel arches and door sills.

The chrome treatment on the door handles and window line, a roof spoiler, silver trim on the tailgate, LED taillamps and rear diffuser in gloss black finish will further enhance its masculine looks. The overall length, width and height of the MG Gloster stand at 5005mm, 1932mm and 1875mm. The SUV sits on a 2950mm long wheelbase. At the biennial event, the carmaker didn’t reveal its interior. Though, the latest spy pictures suggest that the SUV might get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The Gloster’s automatic variant will have Audi-inspired gear selector. The steering unit will be similar to the Maxus D90.

What will further enhance its comfort quotient could be heated and ventilated front seats with a massage function, ambient lighting, three-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch MID, leather seat upholstery and a panoramic sunroof. Engine setup of the MG Gloster will include a 2.0L turbocharged diesel and a 2.0L turbocharged petrol unit. While the oil burner will push out a maximum power of 218bhp with 480Nm of torque, the gasoline motor will produce 224bhp with 360Nm of torque.

Both engines will be offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels. The SUV will come with 7 driving modes (Sandy, Mud, Rock, Snow, Automatic, Motion and Economy).
