MG Comet EV Introductory Prices for First 5,000 Bookings

MG Comet EV bookings have been officially commenced in the country. Its test drivers, however, were started from 27th April 2023. Deliveries of the small electric car will begin later this month. With small footprints, Comet caters to a niche segment and targets urban buyers. The two-door EV is being offered in three variants – Pace, Play and Plush – priced at Rs 7.78 lakh, Rs 9.28 lakh and Rs 9.98 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. Powertrain setup of the new MG electric car includes a 17.3kWh battery pack and an electric motor making 42bhp and 110Nm. The battery pack is IP67-rated and delivers an ARAI-certified range of 230km. The company is offering the EV with a 3.3kW charger that takes 7 hours to get it fully charged. The battery pack for the Comet EV has been sourced from Tata AutoComp. MG says that it has a running cost of Rs 519 per month.

Dimensionally, the MG Comet EV is very compact measuring 2974mm in length, 1505mm in width and 1640mm in height. It sits on a 2010mm long wheelbase. Interior of the small electric car looks quite premium. In terms of features, it has a dual 10.25-inch screens (one for the infotainment system and other for the digital instrument cluster), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, three USB ports, iPod-style steering mounted controls, over 55 connected features, one-touch tumble and fold feature, a rotary drive selector in between the front seats, rear seats with a 50:50 split.

For safety provision, the MG Comet EV offers dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse camera and sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system. It can be had in five exterior colour schemes with multiple graphics packs under different sicker styles and lit packs.
