Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury auto major, has launched the Maybach S650 at the Auto Expo 2018. World’s most luxurious sedan, the 2018 Mercedes Maybach S650 is now available in India at a starting price of 2.73 crore (ex-showroom). The Maybach S560 variant of the saloon has been priced at Rs 1.94 crore (ex-showroom). Interestingly, the 2018 Mercedes Maybach S650 is the first car from the German carmaker to feature a BSIV (Bharat Stage VI) engine. It’s also the first Mercedes that will be made in India. Besides launching the luxury sedan, the company also showcased the E-Class All-Terrain and ‘Concept EQ’ at the biennial event.
Power for the 2018 Mercedes Maybach S650 comes from a 6-litre V12 biturbo engine coupled to a 7-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain can develop a whopping 620bhp and 1,000Nm of torque. While the S500 variant is assembled with 19-inch alloy wheels, the S650 trim comes equipped with larger 20-inch units. Minor updates have been made to the front end of the sedan. It gets new LED headlamps, revised front bumper and larger air dams. Other styling changes include signature ‘Maybach’ badgering on the wheels and C-pillars, revised rear bumper and new tail lamps.
