This move certainly has encouraged premium carmakers bring in their specialized vehicles in CKD (Completely Knocked Down) or SKD (Semi Knocked Down) form in the country. If the Mercedes-Benz V-Class will make its way to India, it will be brought via CBU (Completely Built Up) route from Vitoria, Spain.

Globally, the Mercedes V Class is made available with four engine options (three diesel and a petrol motor). The V200d variant of the van makes use of a 2.0L diesel unit that’s good for 134.1bhp (136PS) and 330Nm of torque. The V260 petrol model, on the other hand, is propelled by a 2.0L motor that develops a peak power of 208.1bhp (211PS) against a peak torque of 350Nm. Dimensionally, the Mercedes V-Class is available with three length options – compact, long and extra long – measuring 4,895mm, 5,140mm and 5,370mm respectively. The standard version of the van offers four individual seats in the rear compartment along with optional one or two rows of three-seater benches. In India, the carmaker might import the 8-seater model of the vehicle.
