Mercedes-Benz has rolled out a new variant of the V-Class luxury people mover in the Indian market. Called Mercedes-Benz V-Class Elite, the new model has been placed top-of-the-line at Rs 1.1 crore (ex-showroom, India). Unlike the entry-level Expression trim that’s based on the 5370mm long wheelbase, the new Elite variant sits on 5140mm wheelbase and comes with 6-seats layout.
The new Mercedes-Benz V-Class Elite receives minor cosmetic updates over the standard model. Upfront, it gets a new grille with more pronounced looking twin slates and the signature logo, revised headlamps and sportier bumper with a wide mesh grille and chrome surrounding. The new model has been assembled with newly-designed 17-inch alloy wheels (standard) along with optional 18-inch alloys.
Buyers have three exterior colours to choose from- Graphite Grey, Steel Blue and Selenite Grey. Some of its key features include Silk Beige or Black upholstery, electric sliding doors, luxury seats with massaging function and climate control, ambient lighting, a refrigerated compartment in the centre console, a 640 W Burmester surround sound system with 15 speakers and an optional panoramic sunroof.
At the safety front, the new Mercedes-Benz V-Class Elite offers six airbags, a 360-degree camera with active park assist, Attention Assist and infotainment system with COMAND online interface along with Pre-Safe package. Its suspension setup has also been tuned with a new Agility Control featuring selective damping system.
For power, the new Mercedes-Benz V-Class Elite uses a new 2.0L diesel engine generating power worth 161bhp against 380Nm of torque. It gets Mercedes’ tried and tested 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic gearbox for performing transmission duties. It can accelerate 0-100kmph in 11 seconds.
