Mercedes-Benz GLE Gets 2 New Variants – Prices & Details

Mercedes-Benz has rolled out two new top-end variants of its best selling SUV – the GLE. While the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC petrol has been priced at Rs 88.80 lakh, the Mercedes-Benz 400d 4MATIC diesel costs Rs 89.90 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, except Kerala. Powering the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC is a 3.0L petrol engine coupled to a 48V electric motor. While the gasoline unit makes power worth 362bhp at 5500rpm-6100rpm and 500Nm of torque at 1600rpm-4500rpm, the latter produces 21bhp with 250Nm of torque for offering EQ boost over short periods. It also comes with an integrated starter/alternator (ISG) that improves the overall performance and fuel efficiency of the vehicle. The petrol variant promises a top speed of 250kmph.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 d 4MATIC has been powered with a 3.0L, 6-cylinder diesel engine pushing out a peak power of 325bhp at 3600rpm – 4,000rpm and 700Nm of torque between 1200rpm-3,000rpm. The diesel version can attain a top speed of 245kmph. Both powertrains are paired to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. The new variants are claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds. The SUV comes with the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system along with the VTD (Variable Torque Distribution).

Visually, the new Mercedes-Benz GLE variants look similar to the other variants. The SUV features Multibeam LED headlights with ultra range high beam, intelligent headlight control plus, 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, a 360-degree camera and auto park assist. The new models have a few additional features to offer including Mercedes-Benz MBUX system with interior assistant, widescreen cockpit and new premium upholstery.

The features’ list also includes electric sun blinds, wireless charging, four-zone Thermotronic AC, electrically adjustable rear seats, memory package for front seats, illuminated aluminium running boards and a panoramic sunroof.
