Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the GLA crossover in the country. The launch is around the corner, as the highly rated crossover is listed on Mercedes India’s official website. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the GLA Crossover will take on the likes of BMW X1 and Audi Q3. Expected to be priced around Rs. 30 lakh, the vehicle has already been spotted couple of times on Indian roads during test rounds.
Based on MFA Platform, the GLA crossover is the affordable luxury car from the stable of German luxury car manufacturer. It will come in two variants- GLA 200 CDI and the GLA 200 Sport. Moreover, the company will also bring in the AMG variant of the car by 2015. Initially, the crossover will arrive as completely built unit (CBU) while the local assembly of the vehicle would eventually kickstart at its Chakan assembly unit.
The Mercedes-Benz GLA crossover will come in both petrol and diesel guise. The petrol version will be powered by the 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged, direct injection engine, which is capable of producing a top power output of 156PS and 250Nm of top torque. This model does 0-100kmph in mere 8.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 250kmph. The oil burner is the new 2.1-litre turbocharged motor that produces 136PS and 300Nm of torque. It takes 10 seconds to reach 0-100kmph. Both the engines will be paired to 7G-DCT automatic transmission with dual clutch setup.
