Mercedes-Benz India will launch the performance oriented model of the GLA crossover- the GLA 45 AMG on October 27, 2014. The company recently launched the standard GLA range, which has received an overwhelming response from buyers.
Under the bonnet, the GLA 45 AMG gets the same 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, direct-injection unit that also does duty in the CLA 45 AMG. It is claimed to be the world’s most powerful production 4-cylinder engine. This engine is capable of producing a massive 355bhp and 450Nm of torque. Overall dimension of the AMG model is equivalent to the standard range; however, the height has been reduced by 15mm to offer better handling at high speeds.
The AMG spec model largely resembles the regular model; however, the AMG equipment makes it look sportier. The vehicle gets sportier bumpers, new grille, quad exhaust, red calipers, rear diffuser, ARTICO upholstery, etc. It also features a racy flat-bottomed steering wheel, newly formulated gearbox, contrasting stitching on seats and steering and red seatbelts.
Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to AMG spec 19-inch alloy wheels. Other features include rear AC vents, a large screen for infotainment system, automatic climate control, ASR, ESP, ABS, EBD, TCS and others.
