Mercedes-Benz G 350d Launched In India At Rs 1.5 Crore
Mercedes-Benz G 350d, the first non-AMG, diesel version of the SUV, has finally gone on sale in India. Priced at Rs 1.5 crores (ex-showroom, India), the new model is around Rs 69,000 more affordable than the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG that costs Rs 2.19 crores (ex-showroom). The SUV’s new variant is being imported to India as a CBU (completely built-up) unit.
At the heart of the Mercedes-Benz G 350d is a 3.0L, 6-cylinder inline diesel engine that meets the BS6 emission norms. The oil burner pushes out a peak power of 282bhp and 600Nm of torque. The new non-AMG variant gets a 9-speed automatic gearbox for performing transmission duties.
The SUV has a permanent AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system along with three differential locks for the front and rear axle and gas filled shock absorbers. The Mercedes-Benz G 350d can do 0 to 100kmph in 7.4 seconds.
Design of the Mercedes-Benz G 350d is slightly different than the AMG model. Instead of the black finished triple slat grille, the non-AMG model gets the PanAmericana grille. The front bumper has also been revised. The smaller air intakes and twin exhausts (instead of the quad exhausts) further differentiate it from the AMG model.
The dual-tone Black and Beige interior of the Mercedes-Benz G 350d looks similar to the G 63 AMG. Though, it gets a digital instrument console, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest MBUX interface, Artica leather seat upholstery and a different steering wheel.
