German luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz has now rolled out the much anticipated SLK 55 AMG in India at Rs 1.26 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). IndiaCarNews bring you top five features that this two-seater hard top convertible has to offer to its buyers.
5.5-litre V8 AMG engine with AMG SpeedShift 7G-Tronic transmission
Mercedes‘ performance division AMG does something that not everyone is capable of. Yes we are talking about the engine tuning, these guys have pretty good handle on tuning and tweaking their engines. And the new SLK 55 AMG is no exception here.
Deriving its power from a 5.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 AMG engine, this roadster churns out a maximum power output of 421bhp at 6800rpm, while yielding 540Nm of peak torque. And having coupled with the AMG SpeedShift 7G-Tronic transmission, the car touches 100kmph mark from standstill in mere 4.6 seconds and has a top-speed of 250kmph. This transmission offers 3 drive modes- Controlled Efficiency, Sports and Manual.
High Quality Interior
Other than the performance, what makes the SLK 55 AMG one of the best roadsters out there is the high quality and comfortable interior it offers to its buyers. The SLK 55 AMG comes with AMG carbon fibre and designo leather upholstery, which give it a great feel inside.
The features that it carries are Command Online six DVD changer and Harmon Kardon Surround sound music system with ambient lighting in the cokcpit along with the AMG performance steering wheel. Moreover, it has a memory package including 4-way lumbar support and a seat belt in black.
AMG Handling Package
The SLK 55 AMG sports the AMG Handling package that comprises of AMG rear axle different lock, AMG High Performance Braking System, AMG performance steering wheel with nappa leather inserts in the grip areas, making it a fun to drive vehicle in almost all driving conditions. What adds more to its performance are front and rear aprons, side skirting, mesh grille, AMG Sports Suspension, designo leather upholstery, 18-inch alloy wheels, ventilated and perforated disc brakes and the AMG sports exhaust. In order to improve responsiveness and handling of the car, the standard brakes are upgraded to AMG High Performance Braking System and AMG Performance Steering Wheel, AMG rear axle differential locks and AMG Direct-Steer system.

As they say, first impression ends never, and the stylish exterior of the SLK 55 AMG is surely unforgettable one. The cars features standard AMG 18 inch 10-spoke alloys painted in matte black with silver brake callipers, Bi-xenon headlamps with Intelligent Light System with Adapative Brake Light flashing, active bonnet and panoramic vario-roof. All these aforementioned styling elements give it quite an aggressive look.
