Mercedes-Benz India has launched the A-Class and B-Class Celebration Editions in the Indian car market. Named as ‘Edition 1’, the vehicles are based on the A-Class A 180 CDI and the B-Class B 180 CDI. Only 100 units for the both the models will be produced. The A-Class and B-Class ‘Edition 1’ are priced Rs. 26.17 lakhs and Rs. 28.75, ex-showroom Mumbai

The Edition 1 features a striped decal that runs along the side skirts of the car. It is equipped with glossy black rear – view mirrors, while the flared wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed alloy wheels. The ground clearance of the cars has gone up too, but it is really hard to identify the figure through naked eye.

The A-Class and B-Class Edition 1 also features the panoramic sunroof. The electrically adjustable front seats now gets controls for reach, recline and height and it has a memory function for up to two settings. The special editions will also get some additional features including reversing camera, shiny black finished side view mirrors, infotainment for rear passengers, a new armrest, etc.

We are confident that the New Generation Cars will continue its run of popularity and will introduce new customers to our brand.”

Under the hood, the special editions will get the same 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 107bhp of top power and 250Nm of peak torque.  The engines of A-Class and B-Class ‘Edition 1’ are mated with the 7G-DCT 7 speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
