Matter Electric Bike Unveiled With 4-Speed Gearbox, 150km Range

Ahmedabad based start-up; Matter Energy has revealed its first electric bike with many first features. The new Matter electric bike comes fitted with several first in segment features such as a 4-speed gearbox and ABS. Claimed to offer a range of up to 150km, the new electric motorcycle will be positioned against the Tork Kratos R and the Oben Rorr.

Bookings for the new electric bike will commence in the first quarter of 2023. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from April 2023. Set to be launched at the Auto Expo 2023, the new motorcycle will be offered in 3 variants.

The new electric motorcycle comes fitted with an IP67-rated liquid-cooled, 5.0 kWh battery. This battery can be charged using a regular 5A household socket with full charge can be attained in 5 hours. The motor is claimed to offer 10.5kW and a claimed 520Nm of torque at the rear wheel. The torque is significantly higher, and is not common with electric two-wheelers.

The big news is that this is the first electric motorcycle to come with a conventional 4-speed gearbox. Adding to it, the electric bike comes fitted with a dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).

Matter Electric Motorcycle Details

The new electric bike comes fitted with features like a 7-inch touch-compatible LCD with turn-by-turn navigation, notification alerts and music playback. These features can be accessed via buttons on the handlebar-mounted switchgear. It also supports OTA (Over The Air) updates.

The electric bike sports keyless operation and has a key fob. The motorcycle features an oboard charger and a small 5-litre glovebox with a charging socket on tank. There is a dedicated smartphone application which allows customers to see several information’s such as theft detection, charging status and ride statistics. Similar to regular electric 2-wheelers, the electric bike will support park assist.

The Matter electric bike is a naked streetfighter and has compact design. It gets LED lighting system, auto-cancelling indicators, split seats, split grab rail, clip-on handlebars, etc. The motorcycle will be offered in 4 dual-tone colours – Grey & Neon, Blue & Gold, Black & Gold, and Red & Black & White.
