Maruti Suzuki India introduced the third-generation WagonR on 23rd January, 2019. Based on the new HEARTECT platform, the hatchback’s new model is lighter, bigger and well-equipped than the previous generation. The styling too has been comprehensively revised. The new Maruti WagonR 2019 also receives a 82bhp, 1.2L petrol engine along with the old 67bhp, 1.0L gasoline unit.
While the new-generation WagonR is on sale across the nation, several Maruti Suzuki dealers are clearing remaining stocks of the previous-generation model. Certain dealers are currently offering discounts up to Rs 1 lakh on the unsold inventory of the 2018 model year of the WagonR. The new Maruti WagonR 2019 has been priced slightly premium (up to Rs 34,000) than the old model. Currently, the 1.0L petrol manual variants LXi and VXi are priced at Rs 4.19 lakh and Rs 4.69 lakh respectively. The 1.0L petrol AGS trim is made available at Rs 5.16 lakh. The 1.2L petrol VXi MT, ZXi MT, VXi AGS and ZXi AGS variants carry a price tag of Rs 4.89 lakh, Rs 5.22 lakh, Rs 5.36 lakh and Rs 5.69 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Some of key changes of the new Maruti WagonR 2019 include new grille, revised headlamps and fog lamps, new tailgate and a new touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and cloud-based services. The hatchback also gets driver airbag, ABS with EBD, front seat belts reminder, rear parking sensors and speed alert system as standard.
