While the global version of the Maserati Levante comes with two powertrains (a 3.0-litre petrol and diesel), the India-spec model is available with the 3.0-litre diesel engine only. This oil burner, with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, delivers a top power of 271bhp and 600Nm of torque. Developed by VM Motori, this power unit also does duty in the Maserati Quattroporte and Maserati Ghibli. The SUV can do 0-100kmph in 6.9 seconds, while attaining a top speed of 230kmph.

The SUV offers four driving modes – Auto Normal, Auto Manual, Auto Sport and Auto Off-Road. The Off-Road mode increases the ride height of the SUV. What further enhance its off-road capabilities are Q4 AWD (all-wheel-drive) system, torque vectoring chassis and the conventional hydraulic steering. Built with lightweight materials, the Maserati Levante has lowest center of gravity in its segment with 50:50 weight distribution. The SUV’s optional ‘Active Sound’ exhaust system enables to change the exhaust tone with driving modes.

Interior of the SUV brims with several high-tech goodies such as the Maserati Touch Control system with the 8.4″ high-resolution screen and rotary control on the central tunnel, Base Audio system with 8 speakers, dual zone climate system, keyless entry (front doors), cruise control, power lift tailgate, wipers with rain sensor, Hill decent control, etc. Features such as top-notch leather upholstery, platinum effect metals, fine woods and handcrafted contrast stitching add more to its premium appearance and comfort levels.
