Maruti YTB SUV Cross Spied Again; New Details Revealed

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new Grand Vitara SUV in the Indian market during festive season, before Diwali. MSIL is also preparing multiple new SUVs including the Jimny 5 door, Baleno based SUV and a new 3 row SUV. The new Baleno based SUV, internally named Maruti YTB will make global debut at Auto Expo 2023. It is expected to be launched in February 2023.

The new Maruti YTB SUV has been spotted testing multiple times. This time around, the spy shots reveal new details like LED DRLs, front grille design and silhouette. To be sold via NEXA dealership network, the Maruti Baleno YTB SUV will be positioned alongside the Brezza. It will rival the likes of the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue and others.

Designed and developed on Suzuki’s Heartect platform, the new Maruti YTB SUV will share styling from the Futuro e concept unveiled at Auto Expo 2020. The latest spy images reveal that the YTB SUV gets a chrome finished trapezoidal front grille that appears similar to the one offered on the Grand Vitara. Adding to it, the SUV has split headlamp setup with 3 pod LED DRLs on top and projector headlamps on lower bumper. It has a coupe styled sloping roofline.

The YTB SUV will have a raked windshield, roof rails, squared off wheel arches, black plastic cladding all around the body, and an integrated spoiler on the boot lid. It is likely to get newly designed 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

Maruti Futuro SUV Concept

The interiors of the SUV will be shared with the Baleno. It will have a 9 inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a host of connected car features, semi digital instrument luster, wireless charger, head-up display and ventilated front seats. It is also likely to get an electric sunroof.

The new Maruti YTB SUV is likely to be powered by a new 1.0 litre Boosterjet petrol engine that is likely to produce around 100bhp and 150Nm of torque. The engine is likely to get a 48V mild hybrid SHVS system with integrated starter generator. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer. The entry level variants are also likely to get a 1.2L NA petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options.
