Maruti XL5 Might Debut At 2020 Auto Expo; Spotted Again

Maruti Suzuki has been extensive testing a new premium version of the WagonR hatchback –  the XL5. The model is likely to debut at the Delhi Auto Expo that’s slated to begin from 7th February, 2020. The new spy pictures show heavily camouflaged prototype of the compact hatchback. Though, its split headlamp design with projector lights, LED DRLs, front fog lamps and revised bumper are visible. Unlike the WagonR that rides on 14-inch wheels, the Maruti XL5 will be equipped with bigger 15-inch alloy wheels that seem to be sourced from the Ignis. At the back, the compact hatchback will feature LED taillamps similar to its donor sibling.

At the engine front, the Maruti XL5 might get a 1.2L petrol engine pushing out a maximum power of 83PS and 113Nm of torque. The new premium version of the WagonR can be had either with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT transmission. Read – 2020 Maruti Ignis Leaked In Pictures

The Maruti XL5 is likely to be based on the top-end variant of the WagonR as we have seen in the Ertiga based XL6. Estimated to be priced from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 6.5 lakh, the compact hatchback will take on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Maruti Ignis.
