Maruti WagonR Xtra Edition Launching Soon – Key Features Explained

According to a fresh media report, Maruti Suzuki will soon launch a special edition of its highly popular hatchback – WagonR. It will be based on the V trim and named Maruti Suzuki WagonR Xtra Edition. It will receive cosmetic enhancements and extra features over the standard model. On the exterior, the new edition will have chrome garnish on the upper grille, back door, fog lamp and the number plate. The Maruti WagonR Xtra Edition will feature front and rear bumper protector along with the side skirts, black body-side moulding and wheel arch cladding. Interior of the upcoming Maruti WagonR Xtra Edition will offer a car charger extender, trunk organizer and a digital air inflator. On the feature front, the special model will come with all the fitments offered on the V trim. The list will include blacked out B-pillar, body coloured wing mirrors and door handles, wheel covers, tilt adjustable steering, power adjustable wing mirrors, front and rear power windows, keyless entry, 60:40 split folding rear seats, day/night inside rear view mirror, steering mounted controls and audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

The Maruti WagonR Xtra Edition will be offered with both 1.0L, 3-cylinder and 1.2L, 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engines. While the former makes 68bhp with 90Nm, the latter one is good for 83bhp. Both motors can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT transmission. The smaller capacity gasoline unit delivers a claimed mileage of 22.5kmpl and the bigger capacity motor promises 21.5kmpl.

The Indo-Japanese carmaker is also gearing up to launch the new-generation Maruti Celerio that’s reported to arrive by September 2021. Unofficial bookings of the hatchback have already been commenced at select dealerships. The new model will be bigger, lighter and more spacious than the outgoing one. The hatchback will receive comprehensive changes inside and out along with the WagonR’s 83bhp, 1.2L petrol engine.

One must note that the new WagonR Xtra kit will be available at dealer level. It will cost around Rs 23,000.
