Maruti Suzuki confirmed that the new-generation WagonR will hit Indian shores sometime in 2020. Besides this, the Indo-Japanese carmaker will also launch a 7-seater version of the hatchback. Rumor has it the new Maruti WagonR 7 seater will enter into production in September and see a release in November, 2018. Officially, however, there is no word about its India launch and details. 1. Could Be Suzuki Solio
Speculations suggest that Maruti Suzuki might introduce the Suzuki Solio as WagonR 7-seater in the Indian market. The Solio sub 4-meter compact MPV is already retailed in the Japanese and Chinese markets. The recent sighting of the Suzuki Solio in India further confirms its imminent arrival.

2. HEARTECT platform
The Maruti WagonR 7 seater MPV is reported to underpin Suzuki’s new HEARTECT platform, which is already used in the new-generation Swift and Dzire. Composed of high-tensile steel, this architecture ensures better safety and performance along with rigidity. It also makes vehicle lightweight aiding to its fuel efficiency and drivability.
3. Shares Engine
In Japan, the Suzuki Solio (Maruti Wagon R 7 seater in India) comes with a WA05A electric motor combined with a 3Ah lithium-ion battery and a PB054A electric motor paired to a 4.4Ah lithium ion battery. The India-spec model, however, is likely to share its powertrain with the WagonR hatchback – i.e. 67bhp, 1.0L K-Series petrol motor. 4. Boxy Design & Spacious Cabin
Similar to its younger sibling, the Maruti Wagon 7 seater MPV will have boxy design with tall boy stance. The vehicle will be sub 4-meter in length, and use a long wheelbase ensuring enough cabin space for occupants. 5. Competitive Pricing
The Maruti WagonR 7 seater MPV will surely be pricier than its hatchback sibling. Its prices are likely to fall in the range of Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh, thus making it India’s most affordable 7-seater MPV. It will face challenge from the Datsun GO+ MPV.
