Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol Launch Details, Expected Price, Specs

Maruti Vitara Brezza

– Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol will take on Tata Nexon petrol and Ford EcoSport petrol.

– The new model is reported to use Suzuki’s new 1.5L petrol engine with an AMT gearbox.

Launched in March 2016, the Maruti Vitara Brezza has turned out to be a huge success for the Indo-Japanese carmaker in the Indian market. The company has been constantly selling over 10,000 units of the subcompact SUV, which makes it the top-selling SUV in the country. The company had introduced the AMT version of the compact SUV in 2018, which is priced at Rs 8.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In order to further improve sales, Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the petrol powered Brezza. The Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol version is likely to arrive in the late 2019 or early 2020.

In recent years, buyers’ interest has shifted towards the petrol cars. The reason behind this shift is the narrowing gap between petrol and diesel prices as well as low maintenance and long life of petrol-driven cars. Seeing the growing demand for petrol vehicles, the Indo-Japanese maker is now planning to launch the petrol iteration of the Brezza in the country. Maruti Suzuki currently has 2 petrol engines, which could power the petrol Brezza. The company has recently introduced a new 1.5-litre K15B unit in the Ciaz and Ertiga. The company could use this engine to power the Brezza petrol. Maruti could also opt for the turbocharged 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Boosterjet engine to power the Brezza.
