Maruti Vitara Brezza Facelift with New Diesel, Petrol Engine Coming Soon

Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift will come with 2 new engines.

We informed you earlier that Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch 10-12 new products in the Indian market in the next 12-18 months. The company will launch the new-gen Wagon R on January 23, 2019, which will be followed by Concept Future S based micro SUV in the second half of 2019. Adding to it, MSI is also working on the next-gen Celerio hatchback scheduled for 2020 launch.

The company is also readying a mid-life facelifts of its two best-selling cars – Baleno and Vitara Brezza. The report also claims that the Vitara Brezza facelift will also receive a new petrol variant. Though, which petrol engine will power the Brezza is yet to be announced. The company has 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with SHVS mild-hybrid system, which currently powers the Ciaz and Ertiga. This engine is capable of producing 104bhp of power and 138Nm of torque.

Maruti could also opt for the 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine that currently powers the Baleno RS. This engine churns out 100bhp of power and 150Nm of torque. The Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift will also receive a new BSVI compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine. This powertrain will soon debut in the Ciaz sedan and the new-gen Ertiga. It is capable of producing 94bhp of power and 225Nm of torque.

Maruti Suzuki is also readying a new 5-seater premium SUV to challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks. This SUV is expected to be based on the next-generation Vitara and is likely to debut at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. Adding to it, Maruti will also launch a premium sedan based on the Toyota Corolla. These 2 models will be sold through NEXA premium dealership network.
