Maruti Suzuki India is the country’s leading car giant in terms of domestic sales. Backed by a strong product portfolio, widely spread network and lucrative after sales service, Maruti India enjoys robust demand for most of its models. Interestingly, majority of the models in the list of top-10 selling cars (based on monthly sales) come from Maruti’s stable. The company recently started operations at the Hansalpur based unit in Gujarat to reduce the waiting period. Now, reports have started doing the rounds that Maruti Suzuki India is contemplating on starting a second shift at the Hansalpur plant effective October to further bring down the waiting period. Sources in the know reveal that Maruti is even looking at adjusting production of some other models at their production units in Manesar and Gurgaon. Also Read – Upcoming Maruti Cars In India

Currently, Maruti manufactures 10,000 units of Baleno every month, in a single shift. With the second shift, the company plans to double the production which will eventually bring down the waiting period for Baleno. The new Dzire is also garnering robust sales every month and he company is now readying for the launch of its flagship hatchback, Swift in an all new avatar sometime next year.
