The Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT (Automatic) variant will use the existing 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine.
The subcompact SUV, Vitara Brezza has been a major contributor in Maruti’s monthly sales in the UV space.
The compact SUV space is surely one of the most competitive segments in the Indian automobile industry. Currently dominated by the Maruti Vitara Brezza, this fierce segment will soon see an all-new release from the house of Tata – Nexon. Aiming to withstand new rival, Maruti Suzuki will introduce the automatic version of the Vitara Brezza during coming festive season. Just so you know, the Made-in-India Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT (Automatic) was previewed at the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) in August 2016.
If a media report is to be believed, the Indo-Japanese carmaker will offer the AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox with the diesel engine or a CVT unit with the petrol motor. However, there is no clarity which one will be brought here. Currently, the compact SUV is available with the 89bhp, 1.3L Multijet diesel powertrain paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The petrol version of the vehicle is slated to go on sale in coming festive season. Check Out – Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars in India

Once launched, the Brezza automatic model will take on Tata’s upcoming compact SUV – Nexon. It will also face challenge from cars like Hyundai Creta , Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300.
