Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker will launch a series of new and facelifts of existing cars this year. If reports are to be believed, the Dzire facelift will go on sale next month while the S-Cross SX4 crossover launch shifted to May, 2015. After receiving a positive response for the AMT equipped Celerio and Alto K10, MSI is now aiming to introduce more AMT equipped cars in the country.

According to Business Standard, Maruti is planning to launch the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) on the diesel version of the Swift hatchback. With this, the Swift will be crowned as the country’s cheapest automatic diesel-equipped car. Currently, the Tata Zest is the only diesel car to feature AMT and is also the cheapest automatic diesel car.

The Swift with automated manual gearbox is expected to be launched in the festive season. This AMT gearbox is manufactured by Magneti Marelli, which is ready to start a dedicated production facility in the country to improve its AMT supply. The gearbox will be manufactured in Manesar, Haryana, which will allow Maruti to add more AMT equipped cars to its lineup. The AMT equipped Swift will cost around Rs. 45,000 more than the regular manual variant.

Maruti Suzuki India is also preparing to launch the Celerio diesel and Ertiga facelifts this year. Talking about new cars, the YRA premium hatchback will go on sale by festive season while the YBA based compact SUV will be launched by end of this year or by early 2016.
