Despite rising competition, Maruti Suzuki has managed to maintain over 50% market share in the highly competitive Indian auto industry. For the fourth consecutive year, India’s five top-selling cars come from Maruti Suzuki stable. The top 5 selling MSIL cars are Swift, Baleno, WagonR, Alto and Dzire.
Maruti Suzuki Swift retains the top spot with over 1.72 lakh units, followed by Baleno with 1.63 lakh units. Maruti Suzuki sold 1.60 lakh units of the WagonR, which is the third best-selling car. The Alto and Dzire have finished fourth and fifth with 1.59 lakh and 1.28 lakh units respectively. Maruti Suzuki announced that these products contributed to almost 30% of the overall passenger vehicle sales in FY 2020-21.
Maruti Suzuki vehicles have taken all the top 5 selling spots in India since 2017-18. Alto, WagonR, Swift, Baleno and Dzire have been the top 5 selling vehicles for all these 4 years. Adding to it, Maruti Suzuki models have captured all the 4 top selling slots in the country for over a decade.
