5. Ford EcoSport Ambiente
Ford has incorporated multitudinous changes in the EcoSport facelift that now comes with an all-new 121.3bhp, 1.5-litre petrol engine from Ford’s Dragon engine family. While the 99bhp, 1.5-litre TDI unit has been retained, the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol unit has been dropped for now. Major design updates made on the EcoSport include new headlamps, revised front grille and bumper, 17-inch wheels (only on the Titanium trim) and LED DRLs. Aside from the styling changes to the front, the new EcoSport gets an upmarket cabin with better plastic quality and more comfortable seats. In terms of connectivity & safety features, the new EcoSport is well-equipped and offers prominent bits as standard.
The base variant (Ambiente) in the EcoSport line–up powered by the all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine gets standard ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, crash unlocking system, power door locks, rear child lock, power windows (front & rear), 12V power outlet, air conditioner, multiple storage points, electric swing gate release, IRVM, audio system, Bluetooth connectivity etc. Features such as cruise control with adjustable speed-limiting device, side and curtain airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, reversing camera, Isofix child seat mounts at the rear, automatic wipers, automatic headlamps, paddle shifters and illuminated glove box are reserved for the top-spec model.
