Within ten weeks of its arrival, the hatchback received 1 lakh cumulative booking implying an average booking of one unit per minute. The Maruti Suzuki Swift was first launched in 2005, and till date the carmaker has sold over 1.89 million units in the country. Interestingly, the hatchback is also the company’s 20 millionth vehicle rolled out from Maruti Suzuki’s Sanand-based plant.
The company’s internal research shows that the new Swift has been appreciated for its new sporty design, advanced safety features, enhanced performance and a strong brand legacy. Designed on Suzuki’s 5th generation HEARTECT platform, the 2018 Swift has witnessed comprehensive design and feature changes along with the new Auto Gear Shift (AGS) technology.
