Maruti WagonR Electric Spotted Sans Camouflage – Clearest Images

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch a wide range of new models in the country. The company is also testing the electric version of the Wagon R hatch, which has been spotted several times. The Maruti WagonR EV has been caught testing again, revealing most of the design details.

The WagonR EV spotted without any camouflage. The interior of the EV is most likely to be shared with the regular model. Previous spy images reveal that the Wagon R electric vehicle will come with same black and beige interior scheme. In fact, the centre console, dashboard and steering wheel will be sourced from the regular model. MSIL could make some changes including new automatic climate control, an updated digital display and speedometer.

The Maruti WagonR EV will come with new single speed transmission and the vertically-stacked AC vents. The overall profile of the EV looks identical to the regular model; however, MSIL will make some changes to keep things fresh in the market. The spotted model has split headlamp setup with LED lighting, and new lower bumper that has new LED fog lamps. The spotted car has shut-off front grille and closed air-intake in black shade.

The spotted model has blacked-out B and C-pillar, and has flat roof. At the back, the WagonR EV gets vertically placed LED tail-lamps and updated bumper with vertical reflectors. There is no exhaust pipe at the rear, which shows that it is a battery-powered hatchback.

The Maruti WagonR EV is likely to get a 72 volt electric drive with a 10-25 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It is likely to offer a driving range of around 180km on a single charge. The hatchback is likely to come with a fast charging option that can charge up to 80% in less than 1 hour.
