Maruti Suzuki Vitara, Jimny, New C-SUV Coming To India

Maruti 7 seater SUV Launch

With an aim to grow its market share, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is planning to launch several new SUVs in the next 2-3 years. The lineup will include all-new models and redesigned hatchbacks with SUV-ish stance falling in different price range. Most of new Maruti Suzuki SUVs are likely to hit showrooms by 2023.

While there is no official word, Maruti Suzuki might bring in the Grand Vitara SUV in the country. In the premium SUV space, it will be positioned against the MG Hector, Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier. Rumour has it that the Maruti Vitara SUV might debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. If launched, it’s likely to come with an all-new 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine.

Suzuki Jimny India

The Indo-Japanese carmaker is reported to launch the new-generation Suzuki Jimny in the country. In the company’s product portfolio, it will be positioned below the Vitara Brezza subcompact SUV. Maruti Suzuki might also bring in the 5-door, longer version of the Jimny that will sit above the Vitara Brezza.

The 2020 model year of the Ignis mini SUV will also be one among the upcoming new Maruti Suzuki SUVs. Maruti Suzuki and Toyota will also co-develop a new C-SUV that will lock horns against the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. It’s likely to come with a 1.5L petrol engine.

2020 Maruti Ignis Specs

The 2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift will also join the bandwagon next month. The updated version of the SUV will debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. This time around, the subcompact SUV will receive a 1.5L petrol engine and a 4-speed automatic gearbox along with minor cosmetic and feature upgrades. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol with a 1.5L engine will also be in the pipeline.
