Maruti Suzuki To Launch Two 7-Seater Cars In India

Maruti Suzuki has some really big plans for the Indian market. The automaker is ready to launch three new Utility Vehicles (UVs) this year including the Fronx crossover, Jimny 5-door SUV and a MPV based on the Toyota Innova Hycross. The company recently revealed its EV (electric vehicle) plans that consists of 6 models in different body-styles. If reports are to be believed, the Indo-Japanese carmaker bring in a 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara that will go up against the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. Here’re some key details of the upcoming new Maruti 7-seater cars.

Maruti Grand Vitara Launch Date

As mentioned above, the carmaker’s new 7-seater SUV will be designed on the Grand Vitara and share its platform, powertrains and features with its 5-seater sibling. That means, it will be offered with a 1.5L K15C petrol engine and a 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol setup. Production of the new Maruti 7-seater SUV will take place at the carmaker’s new Kharkhoda facility in Haryana. It will be the most expensive offering from the Indo-Japanese automaker in India. Upcoming Maruti MPV

The upcoming Maruti 7-seater MPV will be the first re-badged Toyota from the Indo-Japanese carmaker. Based on the Innova Hycross, the model will be made available with the 2.0L, 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle and 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine options. The strong hybrid setup returns a claimed power of 184bhp and the mild hybrid system makes 172bhp. The FWD drivetrain system will be standard across the model lineup.
