Maruti Suzuki has announced to increase the prices of its top-selling hatchback – the Suzuki Swift. Adding to it, Maruti Suzuki has also increased the prices of its CNG cars. MSIL said that the prices has been increased due to increase in input cost. The prices of these models have increased by upto Rs 15,000.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is available at a starting price of Rs 5.73 lakh, which goes up to Rs 8.27 lakh for the top-spec model. Prices of the six Maruti CNG cars including WagonR, Celerio, S-Presso, Ertiga, Alto 800 and Eeco have also been increased.
Maruti Suzuki had announced to increase its CNG powered range. The Dzire sub-4 meter sedan and the Swift hatchback will be the next models to receive factory-fitted sunroof. The company believes that CNG could be a good option for diesel car buyers in India. CNG powertrains lack power and punch of a diesel or a petrol engine; however, it offers significantly higher fuel efficiency.
Maruti Suzuki is planning to produce around 2.5 lakh CNG cars this financial year. The running cost of CNG powered cars are significantly lower than that of petrol and diesel powered cars.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Specs, Mileage
The new Suzuki Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre Dual-Jet naturally-aspirated K12N petrol engine that is capable of producing 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
