Maruti Suzuki Swift Achieves 2 Million Sales Milestone In India
The Maruti Suzuki Swift entered its third-generation earlier this year.
Maruti Suzuki India has announced that its highly-popular Swift hatchback has achieved two million sales milestone since its arrival in May 2005. Interestingly enough, the Maruti Suzuki Swift took 5 years to breach half million sales mark, while the next half million units were sold in just 3 years. The Maruti Suzuki Swift entered its third-generation earlier this year with comprehensive design and feature upgrades. The new model also features the 5th generation HEARTECT platform, thus making it more rigid, safer and fuel efficient. The new architecture also aids to its overall performance and driving dynamics. During April- October 2018-19, the Indo-Japanese carmaker increased production of the Swift hatchback by 45% to 1.39 units as opposed to the previous year. The car’s AMT variants (with Auto Gear Shift technology) contribute over 20% of the Swift’s total sales.
