Maruti Suzuki S-Cross SX4 Crossover has been spotted testing again. The company will launch the S-Cross SX4 in the Indian car market by early next year. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the S-Cross crossover will rival against the likes of Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. It is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 10-14 lakh.
India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki will make its entry in the growing mid-sized crossover SUV segment with the S-Cross SX4. The vehicle is likely to get a series of updates before it launched in the country. This model gets a crossover type styling instead of the upright SUV stance. This model has high ground clearance, black plastic cladding all around the body and metal scuff plate under the bumpers. This model might also get the ‘Allgrip’ all-wheel drive system with the S-Cross.
The top spec model is expected to get the LED daytime running lamps, 16-inch alloys and leather wrapped steering wheel and seats. To keep its cost down, the company might share the interior components with other Maruti cars. Features like dual-tone theme, Air-Con vents, power steering with music controls mounted on it, and others from its smaller cars including Swift and Ertiga.
The Maruti S-Cross SX4 will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. While the oil burner will get the Fiat’s sourced 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel mill that produces 118bhp and a peak torque of 320Nm, the petrol model is powered by the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 120bhp and 156Nm of torque. Both the engines will be paired to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox.
