Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Discontinued In India

Launched in 2015, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has finally bid farewell to India. It was the brand’s first model to be sold via Nexa premium dealership. The crossover was positioned against the Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta. Initially, the S-Cross was made available with the 1.3L Multijet diesel and 1.6L diesel engines making 89bhp and 117bhp respectively. In 2017, the model received a mid-life update with significant cosmetic upgrades and dropping the larger capacity 1.6L diesel motor. The 1.3L oil burner was boosted with the mild hybrid SHVS tech.

With the implementation of the BS6 emission norms in 2020, the Maruti S-Cross was made available with the 1.5L K-series petrol engine. The diesel engine was removed from the model lineup. The new gasoline unit was boosted with the mild hybrid technology. The crossover also gets an optional automatic gearbox. In its seven years of existence, the company managed to sell around 1.69 lakh units of the Maruti S-Cross.
