India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki will launch 12 new cars in near future to further enhance its market share in India. Suzuki has recently unveiled the 2015 Vitara SUV at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. If media reports are to be believed, the company is planning to launch this global SUV in the Indian car market. However, the Vitara will not come anytime soon and the launch would take place in 2018 only. It is expected that the mid-life facelift of the Vitara would come to India.
The Suzuki Vitara compact SUV is smaller in size compared to the Grand Vitara, which is still in production. It will be manufactured at Suzuki’s Hungarian factory in Magyar, while the sales would commence in the European and Australian markets next year.
Based on the iV-4 concept showcased at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Vitara SUV gets aggressive front fascia. It features a twin slat chrome radiator grille, peeled back headlamps with integrated daytime running lights and fog lamps. There is a dual-tone exterior scheme with contrasting roof, aerodynamic creases, floating roofline and wrap around rear end.
The crossover features front wheel drive system as standard, while the ALLGRIP all-wheel drive system will be offered as an optional feature. It will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options.
