Maruti Suzuki to introduce 6 new Utility Vehicles in India

It is no secret that Indian auto industry is going through tough phase. However, SUVs and utility vehicles are still doing pretty decent for the brands. India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is also working on a range of new UVs for the domestic markets. Here we bring you a list of upcoming new 6 utility vehicles from Maruti Suzuki in India –

Maruti S-Presso

Maruti Suzuki will launch an all-new micro SUV based on the Concept Future S, which was unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Likely to be called the Maruti S-Presso, the new mini SUV is rumoured to be launched in September 2019. It will challenge the likes of the Mahindra KUV100 NXT and the Renault Kwid. The SUV is likely to be powered by a BSVI compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 82bhp and 115Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT versions are likely to be on offer. Continue reading…

Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift

Maruti Suzuki will give a mid-life facelift to its popular SUV – Vitara Brezza. The updated model will receive significant changes to exterior and interior. Adding to it, the sub-4 meter SUV will also receive the sunroof option. The biggest change will be made under the hood. The SUV won’t be offered with a diesel powertrain. It will receive a new petrol engine with manual as well as automatic gearbox option. The SUV is expected to be launched during festive season 2019.

Maruti Vitara premium SUV

Maruti Suzuki is also readying an all-new premium SUV for the Indian market. The new model will preview the next-gen Vitara SUV and will challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Kia Seltos. Media reports claim that the new SUV will be offered in 5- and 7-seat layouts. The 7-seater model could be called the Grand Vitara and will be positioned against the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Tata Buzzard and the MG Hector 7-seater. It is expected to be powered by a newly developed 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Likely to make debut at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo in concept form, the new SUV could go on sale in late 2020 or early 2021.

Maruti XL6

Maruti Suzuki will launch an all-new model based on the Ertiga MPV in India on August 22, 2019. Called the Maruti XL6, the new model is basically the rugged and more premium version of the Ertiga. It will be exclusively sold via the NEXA premium sales and service outlets. Apart from design changes, the new model will be a six-seater crossover-MPV. It will come with captain seats for the second row of passengers. Powering the cross model is a BSVI compliant 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid technology. Maruti-Toyota C-Segment MPV

Suzuki and Toyota has joined hands to develop new products, platforms and electric cars. The duo also working on an all-new C-segment MPV, which will be based on the front-wheel-drive moncoque chassis. The new MPV will be positioned between the Ertiga and the Innova Crysta. Maruti Wagon R 7-seater

If media reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki is readying a 7-seater version of the Wagon R in the country. Likely to be called the Solio, the new model will be positioned against the Datsun GO+ and the Renault Triber. It is expected to be powered by a BSVI compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine that also powers the regular Wagon R, Swift, Ignis, Baleno and the Dzire.
