Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Updated With A New Infotainment System
Maruti Suzuki recently introduced the updated infotainment system on the Swift hatchback model lineup. Now, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga gets the new SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with latest smartphone (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and Bluetooth connectivity. It can also be accessed via phone. The system not only works as a video player and image viewer, but provides features such as weather and new updates and music streaming as well.
One must note that the new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system is available only on the higher-spec ZXi trim. Currently, the MPV lineup comes in the price range of Rs 7.59 lakh to Rs 10.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The carmaker has already discontinued the Ertiga diesel variants. The MPV is being offered with a 1.5L K15B petrol engine boosted with SHVS mild hybrid technology. The motor pushes out a maximum power of 105PS and a peak torque of 138Nm. The MPV can be had either with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Recently, Maruti Suzuki introduced the BS6-compliant CNG version of the Ertiga (VXi trim only) at Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The carmaker says that its powertrain has been calibrated with dual interdependent ECUs and intelligent injection system.
Rumour has it that the Indo-Japanese carmaker is studying the feasibility of the Maruti Suzuki Ertgia electric MPV. Prior to this, the company will bring WagonR EV that has been caught testing multiple times. The electric iteration of the hatchback is likely to hit roads sometime next year. It’s likely to offer a range over 130km.
The Maruti Suzuki WagonR electric will come with both standard AC charging and DC fast charging system. Its battery pack can be charged fully via standard power socket in around 7 hours and 1 hour (up to 80%) via fast charging.
