Maruti Suzuki Eeco Gets Update; Prices Increased

The Indo-Japanese carmaker has finally upgraded its highly popular Maruti Suzuki Eeco people mover and made to compliant to the new crash test norms that were implemented on 1st October, 2019. Now, the Maruti Eeco comes in the price range of Rs 3.61 lakh (for the entry-level Standard 5-seater variant) – Rs 6.61 lakh (for the top-spec Eeco Care variant). All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

2017 Maruti Suzuki Eeco

Currently, the Maruti Eeco comes with a BS4-compliant 1,196cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine that delivers a peak power of 73bhp with 101Nm of torque. The CNG version of the people mover returns a claimed power of 63bhp against 85Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

In order to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms, the carmaker will upgrade the Maruti Eeco’s engine. With this upgrade, the people mover might witness a drop in fuel economy. Maruti Eeco received safety update earlier this year. The MPV offers driver-side airbag, rear parking sensors, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) as standard safety features.
