Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has launched a new variant of its popular mid-sized sedan Ciaz with significant interior updates and features. Based on the Z trim, the Maruti Ciaz RS variant is available in both petrol and Smart hybrid diesel versions at Rs. 9.20 lakh and Rs. 10.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
The vehicle receives a new sporty black interior with stylish grey chrome finish on instrument panel. What adds more to its sporty appeal is a spoiler pack that includes front under spoiler, side under spoiler, trunk lid spoiler and rear underbody spoiler. It also enhances the aerodynamics of the saloon. The Ciaz RS comes with all the features that are offered on the regular Ciaz Z+ variant. This model is available with a choice of total seven colours – Pearl Snow White, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Pearl Sangria Red, Pearl Midnight Black, Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Glistening Gray and Metallic Clear Beige.

Since it’s just a new variant, no mechanical changes have been made to the car. The Ciaz RS petrol is powered by a 1.4-litre K-Series engine that produces a maximum power of 91.1bhp and 130Nm of torque. While, the diesel version derives its power from a 1.3-litre DDiS unit equipped with SHVS mild hybrid technology. This engine is good for 88.5bhp and 200Nm. Both the powertrains are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
