Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Gets Auto Trunk Opener; Costs Additional Rs 3,390
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the mid-size sedan from the Indo-Japanese carmaker, has received a new automatic trunk open feature as an optional accessory. One can get it installed from any authorized Maruti Suzuki or Nexa dealership at Rs 3,390. This accessory can be fitted on all the Ciaz models that were manufactured in 2019. Usually offered on the cars priced around Rs 25 lakh, the ‘auto trunk opener’ enables user to open the trunk lid by moving his/her foot under the boot. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz comes with a wide range of exterior and interior accessories including chrome garnishes, rear spoiler, illuminated door sill plates, interior air purifier, additional interior wood trim, etc.
In March 2019, the carmaker introduced a new 1.5L DDiS 225 diesel engine with a new 6-speed manual gearbox on the Ciaz model lineup. The oil burner, which has been developed in-house, is claimed to deliver better fuel economy and performance along with the refined NVH levels. Its power and torque outputs stand at 94bhp and 225Nm respectively.
With new diesel powertrain, the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz offers a claimed fuel economy of 26.82kmpl. The mid-size sedan also comes with a 1.5L K15 petrol engine boosted with the next-generation Smart hybrid system. The gasoline motor comes with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission options.
