Maruti Suzuki India is all set to launch the facelifted version of the Swift and Swift Dzire in the country. If media reports are to be believed, the vehicle will go on sale by festive season. The Suzuki Swift facelift has recently been launched in the European nations, and the similar changes are also expected in Indian model.

Maruti Suzuki India might launch the Swift and Swift Dzire facelift in July, 2014. We earlier reported that the company will launch the Swift facelift next month, and now it is likely that the Dzire facelift will also come next month. The simple reason behind this is Maruti’s strategy to counter new competition in the market. Tata Motors is all set to launch the Zest compact sedan with AMT gearbox in July, and to counter this Maruti is likely to launch the Dzire facelift.

The upcoming 2014 Maruti Swift Dzire facelift has been spotted for the first time in India. The spotted vehicle shows that the compact sedan features new grille with chrome finish which is complemented by smoked headlamps. The front facade of the sedan also equipped with newly designed bumper that accommodates larger fog lamp housings which are lined with chrome.

Maruti Suzuki India is expected to launch the facelift version of Swift and Swift Dzire in the Indian car market by the festive season. This Swift Dzire will continue to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre Multi-Jet diesel engine. The petrol variant of the compact sedan will also be equipped with an AMT gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki – India’s leading passenger automaker is likely to unveil the facelift versions of their best selling models – the compact sedan Swift Dzire and hatchback Swift at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February. Aiming to maintain their market share and stand against the stiff competition, The company is planning to launch both the vehicles sometime in 2014. The Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift has already marked its strong presence in markets like Japan and other European countries.

The overall design and styling of the new Swift will be inspired from its existing model. The new curves highlight young and sporty personality of the hatchback. The front fascia is managed by the new L-shaped LEDs upfront well-integrated into the fog lamp and revised front bumper with silver detailing. The top-end variant will be offered with 16-inches alloy wheels, while the non-alloy wheel variants will get the new wheel covers. The mounted stop lamp at rear is redesigned. Maruti will offer the new Boost Blue Metallic shade for top-end variant of the Swift facelift.

From inside, the new Swift will resemble more like its existing version including the dashboard design and some other features. The new blue and grey lined seat fabric marks a distinction. With an aim to enhance the convenience level of the car, Maruti will introduce new Auto-Up touch function for the driver side power window, automatic headlamps and electronically adjustable side mirrors. The 2014 Swift facelift will be powered same engines and transmission options, used for its existing models. Powering the Swift and Swift Dzire are a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and 1.3-litre Multijet diesel unit.The new Swift is likely to feature a start-stop button, heated seats and cruise control, which have already been offered with its European version.

The above mentioned changes are expected to come with the Swift Dzire as well, since both shares almost everything except the boot. The Swift facelift will compete with the Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Grand i10, Hyundai i20, Chevrolet Beat, Toyota Etios Liva and Nissan Micra. With announcement of the new Hyundai Grand i10 sedan the competition will get stiffer for the new Maruti Dzire.

Since, these will be the mid-life facelift versions of both the cars, expect prices to remain unchanged.
