Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the Baleno CNG in India, with prices starting from Rs 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom). While we have already analyzed the petrol variants, in this story, we will only stick to the CNG version of the Baleno so you can decide which variant will be more suitable for you.

- Powering the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG is the same 1.2-litre Dual Jet Dual VVT petrol engine with a maximum power output of 77.5PS and a maximum torque of 98.5Nm when operating on CNG mode.
- The engine output is around 12.5PS/14.5Nm less than its petrol-only guise. Also, it doesn’t get the two-pedal convenience, probably to keep the prices in check.
- Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel economy of around 30.60km/kg with the Baleno CNG, making it one of the most fuel-efficient hatchbacks in the country.

The Maruti Baleno CNG doesn’t have as much boot space as its standard model due to the CNG fuel tank being located in the boot. It is, therefore, most suitable for city driving where luggage isn’t a major concern.

Verdict: Being an entry-level variant of the Maruti Baleno CNG, the Delta variant gets all the essential features required in daily runs.However, it would have been better if Maruti had offered the Baleno CNG with the Sigma variant as well so that it could target more customers.
