We informed you earlier that Maruti Suzuki will launch the 7 seater WagonR in the Indian market in the second half of this year. We believe that Maruti Suzuki could launch the Solio 7 seater MPV as new 7 seater WagonR. For people not in the known, Suzuki is selling the Solio in the Japanese market.
In fact, Solio has already been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads. This new model will directly rival the Datsun GO+ MPV. The 7 seater model is likely to be powered by 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine producing 67bhp and 90Nm of torque. The company could also use the more powerful 1.2-litre petrol engine that also powers the Ignis, Swift twins and Baleno. This engine is capable of producing 82bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. If reports are to be believed, the 7 seat model could enter into production-line from September 2018. The new model could be launched around Diwali, possibly around November. The global model is equipped with decent set of features like remoe control electric sliding rear doors, roof spoiler, touchscreen infotainment system, multi-functional steering wheel, centrally mounted instrument console and silver trim finish on the centre console.
