Maruti Suzuki is doing final launch preparation for its all-new S-Presso mini SUV that’s slated to go on sale on 30th September. According to a fresh media report, the base model of the S-Presso carries a kerb weight of 726kg that makes it 43kg lighter than the Alto K10. In fact, the range-topping trim of the mini SUV weighs 763kg that’s 21kg less than the Alto K10.
Compared to the entry-level trim of the Renault Kwid that weighs 699kg, the base Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is 27kg heavier. The new mini SUV from the Indo-Japanese carmaker is 114mm shorter, 59mm narrower and 86mm taller than the Kwid. The former also sits on a 42mm shorter wheelbase than the latter.
The Maruti S-Presso carline will be spread across four trims – Std, LXi, VXi and VXi+. For power, the mini SUV will have a BS6-ready 1.0L, 3-cylinder K10B petrol engine generating power worth 67bhp with 90Nm of torque. Features such as a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and voice recognition, dual airbags, steering mounted controls, a 12V accessory socket, body-coloured outside mirrors and door handles and rear parcel tray are reserved for the top-spec VXi+ trim.
Safety fitments including rear parking sensors, a driver side airbag, ABS (anti-lock braking system), a seat belt reminders and a speed alert system are made standard across the carline. Read – Maruti May Launch Diesel Cars In Future
When it comes to pricing, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is likely to be priced from Rs 3.3 lakh for the entry-level model to Rs 4.5 lakh for the range-topping trim. In this price range, it will take head-to-head against the Renault Kwid and the entry-level variants of Hyundai Santro.
