Maruti S-Presso Fully Revealed in Latest Spy Images

Maruti Suzuki has officially announced that the much-awaited S-Presso mini SUV will go on sale in India on September 30, 2019. The company has also released a couple of sketches, showing the design direction of the mini SUV. Ahead of the launch, a new set of spy images of the S-Presso have hit the web world. The clearest images of the SUV reveal the exterior design.

The Maruti S-Presso will be sold through Arena dealership network and will be positioned between the Alto and the Wagon R. The new model will directly rival the Renault Kwid, which is set to receive a major makeover soon. The entry-level car was first previewed as the Concept Future S at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo.

The images reveal that the S-Presso comes with rugged look and a boxy silhouette. Up front is a dual-tone bumper with black plastic cladding on the lower. It gets Jimny inspired grille, large headlamps, high-set bonnet and wider lower air-intake. The spotted model is the entry-level variant, which misses out on upmarket features like roof-rails, and body-coloured door handles, B-pillars, ORVMs and wheel covers. Maruti S-Presso Base Spied

At the back, the Maruti S-Presso gets a dual-tone bumper with black plastic cladding on the lower half, wrap-around tail-lamps with C-shaped glow pattern for the brake lights and fairly simple boot. In terms of proportions, the new model is 3,665mm in length, 1,520mm in width and 1,564mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,380mm. The small car has a ground clearance of 180mm, while the fuel tank has 27-litres capacity. It is 120mm longer, 5mm wider and 45mm taller than the Alto.

Powering the Maruti S-Presso will be a BSVI compliant 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which also powers the Wagon R, Celerio and the Alto K10 in BS4 form. This engine is capable of producing 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
