Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has wheeled out a special edition of its not-so-successful entry-level hatchback Ritz, christened as ‘Ritz Elate’, in a bid to boost up its dying sales figures. The special edition comes at a price of Rs. 20,000 more than the standard variant with an array of added features.
The “Ritz Elate’ boasts several upmarket and advanced features such as body graphics, floor mats, ambient lighting package, an additional bag on the driver’s seat back, door visors, neck cushions and a steering wheel cover. In addition to these, music system with speakers, a Bluetooth kit, parking sensors and seat covers with heavy discount are also on offer. Maruti is desperate to sell the remaining stock of this car and hence is going all out by offering a discount of Rs. 30,000 – 50,000 on the entire range.
However, the company has refrained from making any mechanical changes in the special edition and gone ahead with the already installed 1.2-litre K-series petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines. These engine are coupled with the company’s traditional 5-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, the petrol variants are also available with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
