For all those Maruti car owners with SmartPlay infotainment systems, here is something that may interest you. The infotainment systems that only offer Apple CarPlay in select Maruti cars are now available for Android Auto and Map upgrades, reports in media suggest. One must note that Ignis and recently launched new-generation Dzire come with Android Auto, unlike other models in the line-up with just the Apple CarPlay. That said, models including Maruti Ciaz, Maruti Vitara Brezza, and Maruti S-Cross missed out on the Android Auto, that is now offered with most of the rivalling models in the respective segments.

With the software update from Maruti Suzuki, the SmartPlay infotainment system in the above models can be updated with Android Auto. For this, you need to visit an authorized Maruti dealership in your vicinity. Additionally, owners can also update the SmartPlay infotainment system for maps by upgrading the navigation system to its 2017 version. It is to be noted that this update is of 2.5GB and most importantly, it will remain valid until 2020. Read More-  Maruti Ignis All You Need To Know

Taking a lead in the domestic sales, Maruti Suzuki India continues to rope in healthy sales every month. Last month, around 7 out of 10 cars in the top 10 best-selling cars in India, belonged to Maruti Suzuki clan. With the recent price slash due to the new Goods and Service Tax, the demand is likely to surge in the coming months. Just so you know Maruti Suzuki India dropped prices across its range by up to Rs 3 per cent. One must note that prices of the Ciaz SHVS and Ertiga SHVS variants have been changed upwardly, due to steep rise in tax levied on hybrids. While the GST benefit has been passed on to most of the models, prices of some vehicles including Gypsy, Omni and Eeco are yet to be announced.
