Maruti Suzuki Jimny is surely one of the much-anticipated new car launches of the next year. The Indo-Japanese automaker will bring in its 5-door version that will make its first public appearance at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2023. Just so you know, the company had showcased its 3-door version at the previous edition of the Auto Expo. Till date, we have seen multiple spy images and videos of the upcoming new Maruti Jimny SUV revealing interesting design and interior details.
For the very first, the Maruti Jimny 7-seater version have been caught on camera. The test mule was heavily camouflaged featuring black alloy wheels, ORVMs, door handles and a spare wheel at the rear. One can also notice its retro-styled round headlamps and the conventional front grille. What was highlight of the spotted model was the sporty red seat upholstery that’s slightly visible in the spy video.
Maruti Suzuki will introduce the new 5-door Jimny as a lifestyle off-road SUV with the standard 5-seater configuration. The Maruti Jimny 7-seater with jump seats in the middle row might come as optional. Official details of the new Maruti SUV are still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to come with features such as a large 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, rear AC vents, steering mounted controls, USB charging ports and more. For power, the new 5-door Maruti Jimny SUV will use the 1.5L K15 petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The motor will deliver power worth 100bhp and 130Nm of torque. The off-road SUV will be offered with the 4X4 drivetrain system with a low range transfer case. Though, it could be reserved for higher trims. Features such as high ground clearance (210mm), better approach and departure angles and 3-link rigid axle suspension with coil spring will further enhance its off-roading capabilities.
