Maruti Invicto, Plazeria and Excursio Trademarked For New Cars

Recently, Maruti Suzuki trademarked Espaco, Libertas and Solido names for its upcoming models. Now, the Indo-Japanese carmaker patented three more names – Invicto, Plazeria and Excursio. As of now, there is no information which upcoming Maruti Suzuki models will carry these nameplates and these patents are for a single model or multiple products. Usually, manufacturers file multiple trademark applications for a single product. And then one of them is shortlisted via a panel or through customer surveys (at times).

The Indo-Japanese carmaker has several new products in the pipeline including an electric car, a couple of new SUVs and new-generation version of the existing models. During this festive season, the carmaker is ready to launch the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio hatchback. The model is likely to witness significant changes inside and out. Besides this, the 2020 Maruti Celerio might be bigger and higher than the current generation. It will also underpin Suzuki’s new Heartect platform that will improve its NHV levels, handling and safety quotient.

New Maruti Suzuki Cars

If reports are to be believed, the next-generation Maruti Suzuki Alto will debut in December, 2020. Similar to the new Celerio, the 2021 Alto will be based on the Heartect platform and take a big leap in terms of design and features. Powering the model could be the 796cc naturally-aspirated petrol motor that’s good enough for 48bhp and 69Nm.

The company is also planning to expand its Nexa range with new SUVs that might include 5-door Jimny and a mid-size SUV. The new Maruti compact SUV will be based on Toyota’s new DNGA modular platform and take on the cars like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The Indo-Japanese carmaker will also foray into the C-segment MPV space with a new model designed on Toyota’s B560 platform. The Maruti XL5 electric hatchback is also slated to arrive sometime next year. It will be based on premium variant of the WagonR hatchback and sold through Nexa dealership network.
