Maruti Grand Vitara Prices To Be Released In September 2022

Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the new Grand Vitara prices will be released in September 2022. The production of the new SUV will begin in August at Toyota’s Bidadi based manufacturing unit in Karnataka. Before Grand Vitara, Toyota will launch the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV in August 2022.

The new Maruti Grand Vitara SUV can be booked online or at authorised NEXA premium dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. Expected to be priced in the range of Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, the new Maruti compact SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq.

The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will come in 6 variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha with Smart Hybrid Tech, and Zeta+ and Alpha+ with Intelligent Hybrid Engine. The SUV comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a 360 degree camera, wireless phone charging, full digital instrument console, ambient lighting, connected car tech with Google & Siri voice assist, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats and automatic air-conditioning with rear AC vents.

For safety and security, the SUV gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, 360 view camera, reverse parking camera, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold assist, hill descent control, etc.

The new Grand Vitara is offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol with Smart Hybrid Tech and a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol with Intelligent Hybrid Tech. The same engine options will also be offered with the new Toyota Hyryder. The naturally-aspirated engine is capable of producing 102bhp and 136.8Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

The mild hybrid version also comes with segment-first AWD system. It is only offered with the Smart Hybrid engine with manual gearbox. The AllGrip all-wheel-drive system will offer 4 driving modes – Auto, Sand, Snow and Lock. In the auto mode, the AWD system intelligently sense terrain and vary torque to the wheels on demand.

The strong hybrid version features Toyota’s 3-cylinder 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson cycle engine coupled to a 177.6V lithium-ion battery. The engine produces 92.45PS of power, while the maximum usable power and torque stands at 115.5PS and 122Nm respectively. It comes with Toyota’s e-CVT, which is also offered on the global Yaris Cross hybrid.

The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the most fuel efficient model in its category. The SUV’s electric hybrid model is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 27.97kmpl. The standard petrol with a mild hybrid tech returns a certified mileage of 21.11kmpl with manual gearbox. The automatic front wheel drive model offers 20.58kmpl, while the manual all-wheel-drive model is claimed to offer 19.38kmpl.
